    A highly successful composer of the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, Amy Woodforde-Finden, together with her husband and step-son, is laid to rest in the churchyard of St Thomas à Becket Parish Church. Inside the church there is an impressive marble monument of her, created by the renowned sculptor George Edward  Wade. It was unveiled in 1923 and a few years later, Finden Gardens in Hampsthwaite was named in her honour.[Click on title or image to link to articles]

We are a small, but expanding, housing association who only operate in the Harrogate District. We offer homes for rent and on a shared ownership basis and have 1, 2 and 3 bedroomed homes on Grange Park. With a personal, local service we want to help our customers create homes near family and work.

Properties for rent
  • 4 x 1 bedroom homes @ £110.72 maximum* rent per week
  • 7 x 2 bedroom homes @ £136.93 maximum* rent per week
  • 4 x 3 bedroom homes @ £161.10 maximum* rent per week
*Rents are set at 80% of market rent or the above rates, whichever is lower. The market rents have still to be confirmed.

Properties for shared ownership
On these properties the customer acquires a percentage of the property (based on a market valuation) and pays rent on the remainder. The rent is calculated as a percentage of the market value not acquired. The customer is responsible for all repairs and maintenance costs.
  • 5 x 2 bedroom homes
  • 2 x 3 bedroom homes
Please note that due to regulations the maximum percentage which can be acquired on these properties is 80%.

Local connection
The properties will be allocated/sold initially to eligible people with a local connection to Hampsthwaite. Further details on “eligibility” and “local connection” can be found on the Harrogate Borough Council website and will be available at the meeting on 16 January 2018.
