You'd be quackers to miss it!

This year’s Duck Race’ will be preceded by a lunchtime of ‘Family Fun and Games’ held at The Station, Birstwith, on Saturday 1st June 2013 with Brass Band and activities for young and old. The ducks will be launched from Wreakes Bridge at around 2.30pm and will race down river all the way to Hampsthwaite Bridge - arriving there some 2 hours later. An après race ‘Family Duck Do’ will be held at The Joiners, Hampsthwaite with live music by Karl Johnson and his 'Live Magic' show tribute to Freddie Mercury.

As a lifelong fan of Freddie Mercury and Queen, Karl performs the ultimate tribute show that showcases the entire history of the band with stunning effect. From the first Queen Album in 1973 to their last studio opus ‘Made in Heaven’ in 1995 every track is a classic.

Unlike some tribute acts, the songs are kept in their original key and performed with the ‘Kind Of Magic’ any Freddie Mercury fan would wish for. ‘You are dispelling the myth that teachers only teach and do not do!’ Brian May

Karl has performed in many venues around the country with over fifteen years of professional stage performance. A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, the highlight so far of his career was touring with Bon Jovi and Nickelback in 2006 entertaining over 130,000 people and also performing at the opening of the Rugby League World Cup.
